CyberCoach Security Training Empowering PlaytestCloud to Stay Sharp on Security
PlaytestCloud is the leading Player Insights Platform™ for playtesting and research across every phase of game development. Their team has grown to over 40 employees, supported by a global network of more than 1.5 million players.
PlaytestCloud was born in 2012 when founders Marvin Killing and Christian Ress won a startup competition at the Hasso Plattner Institute. Two years later, in 2014, PlaytestCloud was officially established, becoming the first remote playtesting platform in the industry.

Securing a Global Team: How PlaytestCloud Champions Security Across Continents
PlaytestCloud, headquartered in Berlin, boasts a truly global team, with employees from different continents. This international reach, along with the option for fully remote work, brings a unique responsibility to keep everyone well-trained on security practices - not only in the workplace but also during personal time.
The gaming industry itself introduces specific security considerations, and their geographically diverse customer base adds another layer of complexity due to varying local regulations.
When the company was smaller, PlaytestCloud conducted training through in-person presentations. However, as the company grew, this method proved challenging and repetitive. After trying a few different platforms, two years ago, they switched to CyberCoach for their security training.
CyberCoach includes all the topics crucial to PlaytestCloud’s security requirements, including social engineering, password management, and computer security. Different employee groups, like engineers and marketing, receive specialized training.
The goal is to ensure employees actively learn, rather than passively watch. PlaytestCloud employees appreciate how the platform's interactive format and quizzes make a better training experience.
Christian Ress, CEO and Co-founder of PlaytestCloud
"We've been doing annual security training for quite a long time, The whole way of doing a training as a chat session is a bit more engaging. The content is fresh and natural. I believe CyberCoach effectively communicates the company's value of security. We take security seriously and we train the team so that they really know what to do."
